About Us

At Berkeley Associates, our mission is to give you the ability to make informed decisions about your managed care contracts.

In the earliest days, the companies we served were facilities and ancillary care. As we grew in proficiency with these clients, opportunities opened to expand to all types of providers. Berkeley Associates has become more focused on physician and mid-level credentialing and contracting, with the ability to serve providers in every state.

Our core services

Our core services include credentialing and enrollment (both Medicare and Commercial), Provider Credential Maintenance and Management, and Contract Negotiations.

Proprietary Management Software

As credential management became the critical part of contracting we decided to create an in-house software for managing and maintaining provider credentials (CCIM). While the CCIM software itself is a constant work in progress, it provides reminders and tracking of all credential and contract activity, which eliminates the worry of missed dates and lost contracts.

Our mission today is the same as when we started, to provide the best credential and contract management service we can for our providers. We work hard to stay up-to-date with the changing environment of health care, and work equally hard to maintain the trust of our providers, doing our best for their credentialing and contract needs.

Ellen Berkeley

Founder/CEO

Ellen Berkeley started Berkeley Associates in April 1998. A passion for systems thinking coupled with a meticulous approach has always guided her path. Ellen worked thirty years in nursing starting as a Pediatric Nurse and over the years became specialized in Nutrition Support which led to a position in home infusion therapy. It was at that time she became involved in Managed Care contracting. She discovered that by maintaining the critical details in highly regulated industries, she can help her clients thrive.

Christy Varva

Senior Credential Specialist

Christy has been with Berkeley Associates for over six years. Many providers know her for that friendly voice on phone. No matter how busy she is, she is ready to help when the phone rings. Christy came to this job after working as a manager in a large retail company with little knowledge of managed care. She has become the expert on the credentialing needs of payors and is frequently the resource for all of us when it comes to submitting accurate applications. When Christy isn’t sending provider emails, she excels as an online shopper and is busy this year getting her daughter to go to college next year.

Jessica Miller

Associate Credential Specialist

Jessica came to Berkeley Associates not long before the pandemic hit Oklahoma City. She had to transition to home and learn credentialing and provider enrollment by phone and Zoom. Jessica quickly became expert at her job and is the most organized person on our staff. Ask her a question and she has the answer documented somewhere. When Jessica is not working she has a boy, 2 years old and girl, 4 years old that take most of her time. When she has time to herself she is creative and crafty and loves to hit the sales rack.

Courtney Shephard Miller

Associate Credential Specialist

Courtney came to Berkeley Associates after working as biller. Her billing experience gave her the basics to understand credentialing enrollment but her commitment to doing the job right is how she learned the business of provider enrollment so quickly. Courtney is organized and detailed to a fault. Providers have benefited from her attention to detail, if she does not know the answer, she will do whatever it takes to find it for you.

Linda Rinehard

Provider Communications

Linda joined Berkeley Associates about four years ago. Linda works part-time but she has become indispensable. She is the one that sends provider reminders and emails that keep credentials up to date. She is relentless in getting this done without being intrusive. Linda is a retired technical support for a large healthcare company. There have been times when she has expanded her role with us in a time of computer crisis. Linda is an accomplished musician and is part of more than one band or orchestra. We are glad to have Linda for whatever time she can give us.
